Diversity Day 2025: Voices for diversity and success at DIV DAY OWL

For 13 years now, the Diversity Charter has been calling on companies, organisations and educational institutions to take part in the annual "German Diversity Day". As a signatory to the Diversity Charter, Paderborn University was particularly keen to respond to this call this year and once again demonstrate its commitment to diversity issues on campus with numerous action stands in the library foyer on 27 May.

Together with more than 830 organisations, we registered one of over 2,600 activities for #DDT25 and used our #VoteForDiversity together with all members of the university. In addition to a diversity quiz, where all interested parties could test their knowledge of diversity issues, this time there were various media and creative stations where people could set an example for diversity and tolerance in a variety of ways.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., all interested parties were invited to use their voice in the foyer for a diverse coexistence on our campus. A photo box, creative writing projects in cooperation with the Competence Centre for Writing, voice recorders for recording statements and an art station with canvas, paints & co were available for this purpose.

The day of action was followed by the DIV DAY OWL also took place at the TH OWL in Detmold. We were also represented here with students from UPB and the Vice Dean for Sustainability, Equality and Diversity of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and celebrated Diversity Day in our region together with all universities from OWL with a variety of TED talks and (musical) contributions.

The celebration could also be followed on the Paderborn campus via livestream from 14:00. Our watch party in the foyer with popcorn & co was a great end to the day.

Missed the livestream? Here it is available at any time. And there is already good news for the new year: DIV DAY OWL will take place in Paderborn at UPB in 2026.
