Together online: Searching.Finding.Understanding - strengthening digital skills in families
Overview
The aim is to support digital skills through a family literacy program. The subject of the educational program is the intergenerational acquisition of digital information research. The team is inter- and transdisciplinary: psychologists, media education, together with an education institution (Neue Wege des Lernens e. V.), and an Adult and Family Education Center (KEFB). The Family Digital Literacy Program (FDLP) is oriented towards the living environment of families with children at the end of primary school. In the funding period, it will be developed, tested, and iteratively developed with the means of formative evaluation and design- and development-oriented educational research.
With the aim of long-term implementation, a train-the-trainer concept for disseminators and online support material will be developed. The concept will initially be tested in the Paderborn area; in the second phase, it will be rolled out to four KEFB locations in NRW. In the third phase, the concept will be implemented in the KEFB and carried out at further locations. The educational concept for the families, the training concept for the disseminators, and the online support materials will be made available to other family education institutions as OER. The aim is to implement the Family Digital Literacy program in family education institutions and schools.
