Procedure
Searching for an internship
First you will need to independently organise a suitable placement that is relevant to your field of studies. Which placements are eligible, can be found here.
Fill out the application form in Mobility and submit your application documents.
Currently, we can only consider funding requests for internships that end no later than April 30, 2026. If you would like to submit a request beyond this date, please contact io-outgoing@zv.uni-paderborn.de with the following information: country, start date, approximate duration. We will add you to the list of interested parties and contact you as soon as you can apply for a later stay.
Once you have found a suitable internship, you can apply for an Erasmus+ scholarship for your internship abroad at the International Office. To do so, fill out the application form via Mobility Online. After you have received the registration email with the link, please complete all further steps in the workflow. Your application documents must be submitted in full to Mobility Online at least 6 weeks before the start of the internship. Only then will your application be considered complete. Simply filling out the application form is not sufficient for the application. Detailed information on the application process and our selection criteria can be found here.
Wait for feedback from the IO
The International Office will check your application documents and inform you of the outcome of your application by email.
Submit grant agreement
If your application is successful, we will send you your personalised grant agreement, which stipulates the conditions associated with receiving an Erasmus+ grant. Please submit two signed print-outs of the grant agreement and all further required documents (see below) to the International Office no later than four weeks before your placement commences. A list of the other documents required can found here.
OLS language test (optional)
If you are not a native-speaker of the language that you will be working in during your time abroad, you will be sent a link to the EU’s online language test (further information here). Once you have completed the language test, 75% of the total grant amount will be transferred to your bank account.
Changes to the internship period
Any changes of plan that occur during your placement (e.g. regarding the length of the placement, contact persons etc.) must be reported to the International Office without delay, in order to apply for an extension of the internship grant.
Submit internship certificate or learning agreement “after the mobility”
Once you have completed your placement, you are required to submit an experience report using Mobility Tool+. You will receive an automatically-generated reminder email about this when your placement is scheduled to end. You must also submit proof of the duration of your placement (employment reference or Learning Agreement Table D) to the International Office. Once we have received the remaining documents as described above, the rest of your grant total (25%) will be transferred to your bank account.
