Digital Learning Agreements

With the introduction of Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), the Learning Agreements will also be created digitally.

The creation of a digital Learning Agreement is intended for Erasmus+ students who participate in an Erasmus+ exchange exclusively within the framework of exchanges between programme countries. Students participating in the Erasmus+ partner country programme (International Credit Mobility / ICM) are currently excluded from this. Students from our partner universities outside the Erasmus+ programme also do not require a digital learning agreement.

There are various ways to create a digital learning agreement.

For example, it can be created as a Digital Learning Agreement (DLA) using mobility management software (MoveOn, Mobilty Online, SoleMove etc.). Another option is to create an Online Learning Agreement (OLA). The OLA platform has been made available by the EU for this purpose.

Paderborn University - has decided to use the Mobility Online Portal . However, it is important for you that regardless of whether you create a DLA or OLA, all Erasmus+ universities are connected via the EWP network , i.e. even if your home university claims to create an OLA or a DLA via another mobility management software, we will receive it as a DLA in Mobility Online and vice versa.

Important: Your home university decides how you create the Learning Agreement. If you are unsure, please contact your home university.

Digital & Online Learning Agreement

A Learning Agreement is a mandatory document in the Erasmus+ programme and a fully signed Learning Agreement is a prerequisite for receiving the Erasmus+ scholarship. We do not set a deadline for our incoming exchange students. However, your home university usually has a deadline, so please enquire about this in good time.

If you create a Digital Learning Agreement (DLA) via the mobility management software of your home university, you can specify the same contacts / contact persons as indicated in the information on the OLA below - see step 3 "Receiving Institution".

General instructions for use

Do not complete the Online Learning Agreement on your smartphone. It is not possible to use Internet Explorer. Please choose another browser (Mozilla Firefox, Google, Google Chrome, etc.).

The creation and signing takes place via the OLA portal. Please register here and create a new OLA.

Step 5: Commitment

Sign the OLA, only then can the responsible person at your home university also sign the OLA after checking it. The signature field works best with a touchscreen or touchpad, but it can also be signed on a PC using a mouse. Click on "Sign and send to the responsible person at the sending institution" to send the OLA to the responsible person at your home university. Once it has been signed by your home university, it will automatically be forwarded to the responsible person at Paderborn University.

What happens after I have signed my OLA?

  • As soon as you have signed, your home university will receive an e-mail with a corresponding notification.
  • The "responsible person" at Paderborn University will receive an email notification as soon as your home university has signed off on the OLA.
  • As soon as the document has been signed by all responsible persons, you will receive an e-mail informing you that you can download the finalised document as a PDF file in your account.

What should I do if corrections need to be made to the OLA?

  • If your home or host university objects to the content of the OLA, you will receive an email from the OLA database. Edit the OLA again using the "Edit" field.
  • You will find the comments/change requests of the home or host university in the last step "Commitment" below the signature field!
After revising the document, sign it again and send it back to the "responsible person at the sending institution".
  • If Paderborn University has any objections to the OLA, please inform the "responsible person" at your home university before you edit the Learning Agreement again. This is because only you will receive the information on the correction requests from the partner university via the OLA database. Only after you have discussed the necessary changes with the "responsible person" at your home university do you edit the OLA again.
