The Erasmus+ scholarship
for study visits to partner universities
You can receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for up to twelve months (=360 days) per study cycle (Bachelor's, Master's, doctorate). Your stay abroad at the partner university must last at least two months (60 days).
The amount of your Erasmus+ grant depends on the respective country group of your destination country. In Erasmus+, a distinction is made between two country groups from Call 24 onwards.
Your grant is calculated on a daily basis. The daily rates are redefined by the DAAD in each funding year. The maximum funding period depends on the total approval for Paderborn University and the number of students in the respective funding year. According to the definition of the EU COM, a full mobility month in the Erasmus+ programme is calculated with exactly 30 days, regardless of the actual number of days. For example, if you complete your semester abroad from 1 September to 15 February, this corresponds to a mobility period of 165 days, although October and December actually have 31 days. The month of February is an exception if this is the last full month of the semester abroad. This is then counted as 28 days.
The duration of your stay may be divided into funded and non-funded days (zero-grant days) so that you do not receive funding for the entire period. In Call 24, students receive Erasmus+ funding for 140 days for a one-semester stay and 280 days for a two-semester stay. Please refer to the detailed information in your individual Grant Agreement.
Up to €300/month, the Erasmus+ grant will not be offset against your BAf?G abroad.
